Melba Swintex Road Rock

The Melba Swintex Road Rock is a reusable ballast base designed to stabilise temporary pedestrian barriers, helping them pass Class B wind speeds (17.6m/s) with ease. Unlike traditional sandbags, the Road Rock provides a consistent, precise weight every time — improving safety, reducing site mess, and cutting down on waste.

Manufactured from recycled PVC, each Road Rock weighs 15kg and is built for long-term, repeated use on construction sites, utility works, and public events. When used with standard barrier setups, two Road Rocks per barrier will meet Class B wind performance. For boxed barrier formations, only one Road Rock per barrier is required, making it a cost-effective solution for high-wind conditions.

Available in red or white, the Road Rock is easy to deploy, stack, and store, with a compact footprint that keeps walkways clear.
