Delta Plus Onyx Safety Helmet Overview:
The Delta Plus Onyx safety helmet is manufactured and designed to have a ABS safety shell and a polycarbonate retractable visor, perfect for work where the user has a risk of falling objects and impact from flying objects.
This Delta Plus Onyx safety helmet has a 3 textile straps with 6 fixing points offer the wearer with excellent levels of comfort and balance, allowing this safety helmet to be worn for long periods of time. Reflective stickers for increased overall visibility.
This
safety helmet with retractable visor has both a anti scratch and anti mist coating to provide additional durability and a reduction in misting up of the visor, increasing overall visibility.

EN397
EN397 is the European Standard that specifies physical and performance requirements (including testing) for industrial safety helmets.
Testing procedure:
- Shock Absorption Test – A 5kg rounded striker is dropped on the crown of the helmet from 1m. The force transmitted to the head form cannot exceed 5KN.
- Resistance to Penetration Test – 3kg pointed striker dropped on the crown region, striker not allowed to contact the head form.
- Resistance to Flame Test – when exposed to a flame for 10 seconds and then removed, the shell must not set alight or self-extinguish within 5 seconds.
The relevant European standard can be found on the safety helmet, usually underneath the peak of the helmet so in this case look out for a EN397 standard for confirmation of performance.
